tend to be heavy. For best results,
you really don't want to keep it inside
the house for more than a week to
ten days. Before you bring it in, place
the tree in the garage or a shed to
acclimate it to warmer conditions for
a few days. Once inside, choose a cool
location near a window, and keep the
plant moist but not water logged.
Obviously, you’ll want to plant it as
soon as possible, but first you should
put it back in the shed or garage again
for a few days to re-acclimate it to
cooler conditions. Depending on what
trees are available, you may want to
steer clear of Colorado Blue Spruce, as
they are being adversely affected by a
fungal disease called “needle” cast, so
do your homework before purchase.
If you do get a cut Christmas tree,
as always remember to give it a fresh
cut and get into water as soon as
possible… and don't let it dry out, as
it will draw a lot of water for the first
couple of days. Be sure to shop early
and have a Merry Christmas
