Remember the old saying; take time to
smell the roses? Well, in this hypersonic-
paced world, we find ourselves bombarded
with so much stimulation vying for our
attention that it may be more important
than ever to take an extra second to enjoy
the little things in life. Just the mere aroma
of a fresh baked apple pie, the smell of
freshly cut grass, or the wafting scent of
a summer time rain storm can transport
us back to the cherished memories of our
past. Our sense of smell has a powerful
impact on our stream of consciousness;

not. While the sense of smell can trigger
many emotions in us, in nature it acts as
a billboard for pollinators, stating, “We’re

The role of fragrance plays a pivotal
role in nature. It serves to attract multiple
species of pollinators to flowers. They
consume the flowers’ nectar for food,
while simultaneously coming in contact
with the pollen. While feasting, they
move about from flower to flower, cross
