JAKES, and the Scouts.
Their annual Fall Festival
continues to grow in size and
scope. Within the last two
years, the festival has grown
from about 300 people to an
estimated 800 to 1,000 people
for this years’ 40th annual
event, thanks to the efforts
of Public Relations Officer
Dianne Teague. Highlights
included primitive camping, a
horseshoe competition, archery
tournaments,
and
cornhole
competition.
One unusual event is
the Moonlight Archery
Tournament, which is
conducted after dark,
using flashlights aimed at
paper targets. The whole
thing finishes off with
raffles, and an awards
ceremony for the winners
of various events.
Vendors
also
participated, offering the wares
of artists, crafters, knife makers,
bow manufactures and retailers
with the newest equipment to
see and try.
