So you want to grow grass?
Sounds simple enough, throw down
some seed, water and voila: instant
lawn. Oh, if it were only so easy!
For a healthy lawn to thrive,
there are four major conditions that
need to be reached and maintained.
• First of which is plenty of sun!
Lawns are made up of blends of
seed, typically tall fescue, which in
essence are perennial plants living

order to feed. These plants need to
develop deep healthy root systems
for nutrient and moisture intake.
Without proper sun, which in some
cases they may get in the spring
before the tree canopies fill in, the
plants will become weak, and will
struggle once the harsher conditions
