Happy Birthday, Smith Mountain Lake!
50 years ago, the lake reached full pond, and today, we celebrate
in a number of ways! The calendar is chock full of special events
commemorating the anniversary, not to mention the usual full schedule
of fun and exciting things to do here at the Jewel of the Blue Ridge!
This issue is a milestone, not just for the anniversary celebration, but
also because it’s now bigger and better than ever!We have added new
features to what you are used to seeing in Discover, and this we have
devoted this issue to the history of the lake.
As always, enjoy the puzzles, fishing and gardening advice, and feel free
