Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia.The Smith Mountain Lake Chapter of the
Antique and Classic Boat Society for the fourth time in as many years held
their annual meeting/Christmas Party at The Blackwater Café on Friday
evening December 6, 2013. Chapter President George Blosser presented
a slate of officers for 2014 and identified this year’s individual awards.The
parent organization, The Antique and Classic Boat Society has more than
8,000 members, with an estimated 25,000 antique boaters around the
world.The Smith Mountain Lake ACBS Chapter currently has 68 members.
Each year the International Antique and Classic Boat Society sponsors
The President’s Cup award for each individual chapter. The award goes to
the chapter member who has been recognized for his or her dedication
and overall contribution to the chapter during the year. This year’s award
was presented to Jerry Barnes. Jerry served as Chairman of the Antique
Car display for the Chapter’s 2013 Boat Show. Additionally Liz and Denny
Stubelt received an award for their many years of service to the chapter.
The Stubelts will be moving to California next spring.
