Halesford Easter Drama:

          When

          Halesford

          Baptist

Church puts on its Easter show,

they really make a production of it.

The fifth annual The Cry of Christ

is a fully staged and costumed

          drama, a captivating and chilling

          account of Christ’s story. This

          year’s version features an updated

          script and storyline, including a

          surprising continuation to last year’s

          compelling and surprising modern

day twist to the story, which runs

parallel to the last week of Christ’s

          life on earth.

          Each year, over two hundred

          HBC members come together to

produce the area’s only fully staged

          Easter drama.Last year’s production

          played to mostly packed houses,

with over 3000 attendees over a

          total of ten showings. Audiences

          included some groups who traveled

from outside the state to watch this

          community production. This year’s

version will be over an hour long,

thanks to the combined efforts of

          more than 200 people, including

          stage designers, actors, parking lot

          attendants, and sound and lighting

          crews.

The Cry of Christ is a

          cumulative work, whose progress

now has spanned six years. It all

started with a single inspiration to

present this unique drama to the

          lake community. The enormous

stage floor is built over the existing

          pulpit area in front of the church;

when not in use, it requires a semi-

trailer for storage during the rest of

          the year.

          Due to high demand, several

          performance dates are scheduled:
